Soil & Rock Stabilization
The long-term and chemical alteration of soils to enhance their properties with additive such as cement, fly ash, lime, etc. Stabilization can be utilized to improve overall cross section strength, and is a greener alternative to traditional pavement designs. When used properly with mix designs, stabilized sub grade will again substantial strength.
- Sped to add strength to the top 8"-14" of subgrade.
- When combined with value engineering, stabilization can reduce the pavement cross section required to reach the designed structural number when factoring the subgrades structural strength.
- Can be utilized reactively to improve poor subgrade and can range from 30-80% cheaper than the alternative of undercutting.
